It is Possible to Stay Young Forever: Skin revitalization facts

Aging of the face is both an aesthetic and a clinical problem. Reduced dermal vascularization and decreased biosynthesis of important extracellular matrix components by fibroblasts result in loss of skin turgidity and elasticity. In particular, the amount of Hyaluronic acid is deeply impaired in mature skin.

Hyaluronic acid is the one component inside skin that is found in all kinds of mammals. This skin ingredient is at the highest levels in young children and gradually decreases with age. It is Hyaluronic acid that is responsible for keeping skin tight, glowing, soft, supple and healthy. The plump cheeks that we see in children is attributed to the high concentration of Hyaluronic acid in their skin. It provides nourishment to the skin and maintains the regular lifecycle of the skin. As time passes the concentration of Hyaluronic acid gradually reduces to nil and lines and wrinkles start appearing on the surface.

Everything that you need to know about skin aging

Skin aging is a consequence of a combination of intrinsic and extrinsic skin aging determined by harmful exogenous factors.

Intrinsic skin aging

Intrinsic skin aging is also called chronological skin ageing and is caused by intrinsic factors such as age, gender, genetic predisposition and race. Intrinsic skin aging leads to decreasing physiological functionality of the skin such as decreased fibroblast activity due to collagen downregulation, low elsatin formation and low hyaluronic acid formation in the skin. It is also characterized by decrease in intra-dermal hydration and decreased skin elasticity and tonicity.
